How does Among Us work in Minecraft?

Given the popularity of both games and Minecraft’s modding potential, there was bound to be an abundance of Among Us add-ons for Minecraft soon. Presently, there are a lot of them. It basically means that you can play your favorite impostor-sniffing game inside Minecraft with your friends.

Typically, this includes mods that try to implement a lot of content in as seamless a way as possible, but also the charming low-effort builds. Let’s go over the types of content we have to offer here.

Skins

Among Us skins are simple to make. Naturally, there are countless variations. Most skin packs are a single crewmate texture with a different dominant color each. However, some have unique additions.

Take a look at our collection for a full preview.

Maps and gameplay add-ons

In essence, most AU functional add-ons consist of two parts: a dedicated map and a gameplay add-on.

The maps are usually the reinvented version of the classic Among Us maps in Minecraft, mostly the spaceship (Skeld) and the base (Polus). Unsurprisingly, there have been countless attempts to build these environments with the tools available in vanilla MC with as much decorative authenticity as possible.

There are many of them. You can download one of these without even having to receive additional resources (textures, effects, or skin). They aren’t going to be functionally similar to Among Us gameplay, but you’re still welcome to invite your friends and play with them hoping they’ll adhere to the rules voluntarily.

There are also sizeable projects with a goal to bring as much of Among Us functionality into Minecraft as possible. Several are ready for play, although the developers are continually adding the content they left out. This includes:

You’ll also have to adhere to action limitations, like the inability to hit anyone, break blocks, or craft things. Most actions you could do in base AU are usually done through custom items that represent decisions (vote, kill, vent, and more).

You can install one of these add-ons and play with your friends or connect to one of the many servers with a dedicated Among Us mod, like Mineville or Performium.

Among Us in Minecraft FAQ
How can you join a custom Among Us server in Minecraft?

The process is simple enough, although it’s much more comfortable if you have a Minecraft license. The version of the game is insignificant.

The first method is to simply type ‘Among Us’ into the server search in Multiplayer. Some servers specifically dedicated to one of these mods are bound to appear.

The second method requires you to know the server you’re connecting to. It’s also much more reasonable because you’ll know what type of gameplay the server offers you. In addition, some undedicated servers just happen to have an Among Us minigame, which means you’ll have to do some searching to uncover them.

When you’re done – simply copy the server IP and paste it into the ‘Add server’ section in Multiplayer.

Are Among Us mods hard to launch?

Most of the time, they are not. It wholly depends on your computer’s capabilities and mod’s requirements. The installing process often doesn’t take more than a few minutes because you don’t really add anything sizeable, just a few low-polygon textures, effects, and streaks of code.

The game is unlikely to lag while running the mod either, for the same reasons. It might not hurt to check whether the mod is compatible with any other visual modifications you’re running, most notably with any renders you might have.

Do I have to pay for these mods?

The mods might take their developers some effort before they released them. However, asking money for Minecraft mod you’ve created is not widely practices. So, they are free. Naturally, we also don’t charge you anything to download them, nor are they ours. We simply allow you to rummage through a collection of Among Us content we gathered.

How do I download these mods?

All you need to do is download the zip file of the mod you need, unzip it, and leave the files alone for now. Afterwards, open your start menu, type ‘%appdata%’, and find the ‘.minecraft’ folder among the results. Open this folder, proceed to the ‘mods’ folder inside and then, copy all the mod files and paste them here.

Are these mods safe?

We collect the mods all over the internet from the developers who created them. Before publishing them here, we check whether the developers and the mod are legitimate, check them for viruses. If the mod is absolutely clear, we’ll offer it here.
